The IOU project was started by Kavita Parmar, Creative Director and Co-founder. This project was born out of her frustration with her own experience as a designer as she watched the fashion turn-around become faster and faster. The IOU Project honours the artisan weavers of India and keeps their age-old traditions alive.

I wish to share with you my love of beautiful clothing that features the color blue. I love exquisite textiles dyed with indigo blue and other natural dyes. I’m also fascinated by the lives of people in traditional communities where natural dying techniques have been practiced for generations. I value how the use of natural dyes preserves one of our most precious resources, water. I hope you enjoy these pages and find inspiration in reading my blog.
